The thunder's crackling, the sky's roaring, the people are screaming, you could hear the rustle of clothing being packed, you can see the people yearning for water....... this all accured in The Flood of '93.
1. How did you react when you figured it out?
- I went to the store and frantically bought as much drinking water and food that could be prepared as quickly as possible.
2. What was important about how you reacted?
-I stayed very calm, also I worked at a grocery store so he got his drinking water and food before anyone had the chance to.
3. Did you make the right decision?
-Yes.
4. Did you have to move to any temporary shelter's?
-No.
5. What was the scariest part about the flood?
-I didn't know how long it would last.
6. How many day's did it last?
-A couple day's.
7. Was it a bad or a good experience?
-it was a different experience, it was good cause it taught him good self control with food and water, and the bad experience was that there was no running water and the electricity was off for a couple of days.
8. Do you if any body died?
-I'm not sure how many died.
9. What was the best part about the flood?
- there was no best part.
10. How bad was the damage?
- millions and millions of acres of damage.
11. How long did it take to fix?
-it took a looong time.
12. Was it ever completely restored?
- yes
13. where did you live after the flood?
- in the same place.
14. How did you remember what has happened on that day?
- It was a very easly remembered day, and the news was talking about it non-stop.
15. What was the first thing that happened in the flood?
- Des Moines water works flooded so that the water was un-drinkable, so the national gaurd shipped water into Iowa.
Me and my dad have learned alot about this dangerous and rememberal day that my dad has survived, and most of all Iv'e learned about what that very breath taking day was about. Thank you dad for spending time to answer these important questions so people like me can learn about The Flood of 93'.
