The Collapsed Interveiw

A bridge collapse that cause many injuries
and some deaths. A collapse that made peoples lives harder.
This is about the Minnesota bridge collapse in 2007.

Question #1: When did the bridge collapse?
Answer: "The bridge collapsed on August 1st, 2007."

Question #2: How old was the bridge?
Answer: "The bridge was around 40 years old."

Question #3: If the bridge was not very old, why did it collapse?
Answer: "It collapsed because of a design flaw."

Question #3: Where were you when you found out about the collapse?
Answer: "I was at my parents house in Minnesota."

Question #5: ow did you and other people react when you found out and why?
Answer: "Well my family and friends reacted the same way as me, we were all in disbelief, shocked, and kind of sad. The reason was it was just such a horrible accident, nothing like that had happened in Minnesota that I know of. Other peoples reactions depended on how they were affected. Like people who were killed because the lost their lives and their relatives were affected because they had to live without that person. Also some people had to find alternative routes to work."

Question #6: Why do you think the bridge collapsing was such a big deal?
Answer: "It was one of the main bridges in Minnesota and it was the 5th busiest bridge in Minnesota. 140,000 vehicles used it daily. Also 145 people were injured and 13 people were killed. One of the biggest reasons that it was a big deal was nothing had happened like that in Minnesota that I knew of like I said before."

As I interview my mom I learned that it was
more than just a bridge that collapsed like I thought
before. Even though I didn't know anyone
on the bridge that got hurt or killed it is still a very
tragic thing. The bridge collapse is something I will always remember.
