It was a bright, sunny day, just like every other in Arizona, and like most 7 year old kids I should have been joyful. School was over. I just couldn't get over the fact of what today was, moving day. I was born and raised in Arizona, and now I had to move, to Iowa! I was extremely upset, I just couldn't believe it. We had lived in this house for 7 years! I couldn't leave.
"Mom," I said, "why do we have to move?"
"So we can be near family," she explained.
"Oh. Okay," I said holding back tears.
I walked to the corner of my empty, hollow room and started to bawl. I was wondering why we had to move! I didn't want to leave. Then my dad came in a sat next to me.
"What's the matter?" he questioned.
"I don't want to move!" I wailed.
"It will be okay" he tried to reassure me.
"I don't know," I said.
"Trust me," he said, "let's finish loading the truck a start our trip on the road. Okay?"
"Okay," I told him.
So we did exactly what my dad to me and started our extremely long journey.
We drove through about 5 states like New Mexico,Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and finished our journey in Iowa. After 3 long days, seeing a tornado in Texas, and our fish making it the whole way-unfortunately- we arrived in Iowa.
In Iowa I had to share a bedroom with my sister-ugh! Also I made many new friends. About a year after we moved to Iowa we moved to a new house which is much better than our old apartment! I like Iowa better than Arizona, much better! I learned that no matter what happens , no matter how hard it is, you can overcome it. I'm very glad my parents made the decision to move to Iowa.
