I decided to get my pads on. First I put on my jock strap, my girdle(hip pads), and then my pants(thigh and knee pads). Next I had to get my water ready. The water was so cold that it felt like I had frost bite.
Before the game our team had a short warm up. We did stretches and I was a leader. Next it was game time and I could feel the tention building. As I walked in I could hear the roar of the crowd and screaming fans. I could smell the smell of the concession stand. I had always loved the sight of the green grass.
We started off with the coin toss and we picked heads. The coin had landed on tails and the other team chose the ball. Since we were defense that meant I was in. We stopped the Chiefs and they decided to punt. We moved the ball to the 10 yard line. I thought, "This is a great way to start off the game."But then... OH NO!!! We fumbled. It was a turn over and the first quarter ended.
Now it was the second quarter, and we needed to stop the Chiefs. They ran the ball, and I made a phenomenal tackle. I could hear the sound of my coaches chanting as I thrust my pads into the running back. It was a turn over, the second quarter was over and half time started.
Our coaches gave us a pep talk and encouraged us to score. It was the second quarter and we needed to score. I got the ball and as soon as my finger tips touched it, I knew I had to score. I ran 15 yards and was taken down by three guys. I ran the ball again. The field was open and I was gone. But then... the whistle blew, flags flew and it was an illegal formation on defense. Next play was a pass and we scored 7-0. This marked the end of the third quarter. Fourth quarter had begun and we had to stop them.
They threw a long pass and missed it. The Chiefs tried it again and this time it was over thrown, which made the ball ours. There was 50 seconds remaining. We did a quarterback kneel and won!
