PIZZA and WHAT!

Pizza and dogs are different, but to understand their similarities you have to start your imagination. RRRRRRRRRNNNNNNN! That's great! So let's go.

Have you ever thought of "toppings"? Well you can put clothes on dogs to make them look better. You can put toppings on dogs to make them taste better. Have you thought of that?

What about a "container"? Fences and a leash and collar contain a dog like a box contains pizza. Can't contain this imagination now can you? Now for some differences.

You have to cook pizza but if you cook a dog it's animal cruelty!!!!! Also I really don't feed my pizza but you have to feed dogs. Well I think that this compare and contrast is the 1st of it's kind. Thanks for reading!

A football 4th

On this cold and windy Sunday afternoon, my team, the Waukee White Ravens, were playing the West Des Moines 49ers at Waukee Stadium. This team has bigger kids, but not better. Last year, this team was 4th in the final standings. We came in with our team and hope. We won our first two games of the season and that's where all of our hope was from. First game came with revenge, second with determination, and this game, with hope.
The 49ers scored the only points in the first half. At the half, the 49ers lead was 6-0. It stayed the same for the 3rd quarter. Then, a breakaway. A.J. Iverson running down the field. "GO!, GO!" I screamed. Before he got to the endline, there biggest and fastest guy caught up to him! He couldn't tackle him because I blocked that guy so A.J. got passed the endline! TOUCHDOWN Ravens! Our offensive guard said these words to our backs. He said, "Follow me". They did so we took a 7-6 lead.
At the end of the game, after our defense stopped them until this happened. Our QB kneeled so the clock read and the crowd and teammates chanted,"10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0" A victory for the ravens! My feeling was undescribable. We WON! My 4th win!

Sports Galore

Imagine you and your team going out on the field, arena, or court to accept first prize for winning a tournament. You'll hear the crowd monstrously cheering your name. You'll be pumping your fist in the air in a heartbeat. Your teamates will be celebrating like no other. This is tournament teams, the best part of sports.

There are three reasons, in my opinion, tournament teams are the best. One reason is there is more competition among the teams. It's often the best versus the best. Teams come from all over the state and country. Another is staying at hotels. On long-distance tournaments you can have the time of your life with your team by swimming and playing games. The last reason is celebrations. Even if you lose the tournament, you can still celebrate being on the team.

Some reasons that my opinion may not be shared is that the whole point is competition. If you don't like competitive sports the tournament level isn't right for you. Another is some families can't afford the travel, tournament expenses, and hotel costs because of the bad economy. One last reason is you fight to celebrate and if you don't like to celebrate, there's no point.

That is what tournament teams are and if you like it good, but if you didn't or don't now is your chance to change. That image is waiting for you. Pump your fist in the air and celebrate. Go out, be free, and join tournament teams, the best part of sports.

1 Tragedy and 1 Great Sucess

The first rocket launch was a big deal. As the Apollo 11 astronauts were in the rocket, they got ready to launch at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. My grandma, Dorothy Smith, was at home ready to watch the launch on T.V. on July 16, 1969, with her family.


What part do you remember the best and what was your favorite part?
For me, the lift-off as both. It's the adrenaline and anticipation that catches you as they go into the stars. I think you could ask anyone who experienced the launch and they would say the same thing.

Could your mind feel the heat like you were there in person?
Yes, in a way. It is tough to feel the heat actually, but in my mind I was burning up in a way. It may have been the intensity and pressure, but anyway this is a historical landmark in US and World history. It was just astonishing the way it was.

Was it among the top 5 moments in your life?
Yes, ranking 5th. It was just such a big deal and a landmark for the USA.

When the challenger exploded if you were an employee who had communication with them when it went off course, what would you have said to the astronauts inside the Challenger?
I would have been stunned and confused. Also time goes way too fast so you really can't say anything.

What would you have said to the media about the Challenger as CEO of NASA?
I would have said, "We are proud of those brave astronauts. They gave us the warning to check everything more cautiously. This was a great learning experience and also a tragedy.
Thank you, Challengers."

Going to any launch would be fun. How would you describe going to one?
Well, first off it would be loud and very warm. The ground may shake also. Adrenaline levels would be very high. It would be fun, and I would consider going to one.

This was my interview with my grandma, Dorothy Smith. My prospective of rocket launches was that it was one of the coolest things ever because the flames and heat are so extraordinary. That never changed throughout the interview. My grandma also taught me how important astronauts are to the world. I had a lot of fun doing this interview and my grandma was glad to help out. The Funny Car Experience

When I went to Cordova, Illinois for the World Series of Drag Racing, it was pretty mild until the funny cars. When the funny cars would start up in the pits you could smell and taste the nitrous fuel. It was terrible. It would make your eyes water and your nose and throat hurt. Surprisingly, a lot of people like it.

When these monstrous cars would race with 2 daring drivers going 260 MPH. Imagine the intensity in the car and the wind coming  in the stands. The cars look like 2 fast moving flames. In the night it is the best. You can go to any IHRA or NHRA drag racing event. You will love it!
