Paint a picture now!

Alright, now many people say that taking pictures of a still life, or a landscape is is better than painting a picture instead. Well why not painting! A picture can only show what people visually see, but paintings can tell so much more. Like how they show your feelings just by changing the color, or even the time of day. Changing the shape like Picasso, and how he brought cubism to life by painting everything in cubes and squares. it can change the entire world's point of view!

Lets imagine a photograph of a pine tree, the bright sun glaring off of the bristles and the grass neatly mowed. Now take the setting, and change it to two years into the future, when the grass is a whole two feet tall, very messy, and hasn't been mowed the entire time! Also change the time of day, maybe to the evening , so that it shows a relaxed mood in the red and orange sky. That's a painting I know I would buy!
Now go back to that regular photograph of the pine tree. Very plain, not really a work of art. You know, just a picture right! Because that's all a picture really is, just that visual picture.
And it gets worse, that horrible glare! I can barely see the tree! Why must photographs be so EVIL!!!
You should kind of be getting to that phase right now that you just might want to go outside right now and paint a picture of something you see! And if you don't want to go outside on this grand day to paint a picture of something you see, what have you been doing this whole time crazies!!!
Anyways... paint!!!

The Chance Called Life

The wind in my hair
The trees everywhere
The moon,
not in sight,
This is a day,
not a night,
To be heard
Is to not be seen,
But to be listened to.
Beneath what lies within our hearts,
Is glorious love,
Glorious
Faith.
There are lives out there,
Dependent on nature for a way of living,
Yet not the nature like trees, and plants,
But the nature in the glorious love,
And the glorious Faith.
No matter what we learn from our lives,
The most important thing,
Is to keep living,
Even if that means giving up what is ours to save a land,
Or hoping for others to work out there plans,
Or living in sync, but trying to see the reality in life,
Well, you know what I mean,
Like when daffodils bloom in the summery tomb of the rich, and soft soil,
The only thing there to be separating the stem from the ground beneath him.
But life is not to be taken for granted,
If you look at an angry, or sad person,
They take it as not an advantage at all.
I take life as a chance to prove myself,
My words can have depth, or be as shallow as the little puddle that I saw,
This morning, yet there was not a rain for miles,
Why is there dew on the beautiful roses,
Why are there petals such a bright, but dark maroon,
With the wind in my hair,
With the moon here in sight,
This plentiful day,
Has turned into a night.

Saving Sara

I was five years old when my best friend was diagnosed with lukemia cancer, Sara was six. It was one of the most scary things that I had expirienced. With the hair being gone, and the bags under her eyes, and all of the tubes that they had poken into her body. Needles. Chemo. Blood.
It was horrifying.
The first time wmy mom and I went to see Sara in the hospital, Sara told me to tell her dad that I had the chicken pocks. When I did say that, his eyes widened, then he realised that I was just kidding and he gave me a wink and a grin!- Please note that chicken pocks can be deadly to lukemia victems.
The second time we went to visit, it was a year later and Sara and I played war with a dec of cards that had smiley faces on the back!
"I win!" said Sara as we had completed that deck,"Rematch?"
"Deal!"I said,"I'm sure that I'll beat you this time!"
But yet once again the victory was Sara's!
I remember that moment so vividley, when we wheeled the medicine cart out to the playing area for children that were in the hospital. I remember Sara saying to me that she had been in a photo shoot and was on the cover of a magazine! I was so exited for her!
About a half a year later, when my mom and I were meeting my grandpa at T.G.I. Fridays, my mother and I were looking at some squirrel tracks that were lightly denting the diamondlike snow that had fallen the day before. That was when I shut the door, but without realising it, my mom grabbed my hand and started to walk towards the restaraunt, but something hurt, bad. My finger was shut along with the door! I tried to yank it out, but that only made things worse, so my mom then unlocked the car and there was so much blood, that we started looking for the tip of my finger! So we got some ice from Fridays and rushed to a hospital emergency room, and that was when I saw Sara's agazine! It was so cool that we ripped off the cover and gave it to Sara!
How could I have been so dumb to not have realised this! Sara wasn't on the magazine because she had cancer! She was on the magazine because she had survived it! That was why we were going to her house, for the welcome home Sara! Thank goodness! When we got there, Sara showed me a teady bear that she had gotten from the nurses that had a white t-shirt on with big red writing that said, "CANCER SUCKS!!!"
Sara had the chance to live for the next three years. The true miracle about this story, is that that was five years ago!

Why Pick Cats?

I love cats and I think that everyone shold have cats too! Cats are loyal and loving animals. I think that cats are very loving and kind. Here are some reasons why you should have, or should not have a cat or cats. Wich side will you choose?

I think that everyone should have cats because they are such a cure for sadness! When you look in to there eyes and all you can see is the little reflections of the light on the Christmas Tree! And they are so soft that you want to cuddle them to pieces! Also, when you need to say outloud something that is on your mind, you can depend on a cat not to tell a soul!

This is not my personal opinion, but it just might be yours! Here are some ways on why some people don't like cats.
Some people just can't have cats because they can't afford them! And others could be allergic to their furr. The litterbox also takes responsibility that a lot of people don't have! Take me for example!

There you have it America! Now you have read some reasons wether to or to not have cats?
Decisions. Decisions! How to decide?

Oh My What A Horrible Day

And what a horrible day it truly was when the only Challenger went up,
then came down. Today I am going to share with you what my mother had to say about how she felt about the Challenger Mission. Challenger was a space mission to bring the first teacher into the sparkling darkness that lies just outside of our reach.

Were you and your friends exited for the upcoming mission?

No Iwas not, infact Idid not have any care at all for the mission, though I did know that Kathy Craiger was sooo exited because her dad was about to find out if he had almost got to be the first teacher in space!
When did you hear about the crash and how did you feel?

Since I was living in Japan, I heard the terrifying news the morning after. My entire family was bunched up around the television like a crowd in a moshpit at the American Idol Finallies! But we definateley weren't that happy though. More like a silent, can't move a muscle kind of moshpit. I felt confused really, but as the days went by my additude just kept getting worse.

Did you and your friends talk about the accident?

Is that even a question to ask? I talked and talked with my friends about it for months, and months later, I remember Kathy sobbing when she heard about the terrible news that the Challenger had exploded. We asked ourselves so many questions like; When did she really die? When she hit the ground, or when it exploded? , and ; Why did they even want to send a teacher up there? If only that one bolt or screw had been fastened in, then none o this could have happened.

What were your own personal feelings about the accident?

I remember being so confused. Confused is the emotion that took over all of the other emotions. Even though I was also sad for Kathy and her thankfully alive father Mr. Craiger, I was kind of mad at the space people for even wanting to send a teacher into space in the first place!

What were your ister's feelings about it/ how did she react?

She was so sad, mostly for the teacher. She also asked herself, "How could this happen?", and,"What did the teacher do to deserve this?"

Do you still think about it?

All of the time, Iremember visiting the Challenger Memorial. That made me cry more than ever. And this summer when we went to NASA and saw the plaque with her face and handprint I just about fell apart.

The horrible day will always interrupt our memories as we go back to think about that day, even those of us who weren't even born yet get a sickening feeling in our stomachs. That was my mom's point of view on the Challenger Space Mission.

Let's Go Penguin!

International dress like a penguin day is on January fifth. This holiday was created by me, Jenna, and Hannah(fifth grade.). The way that it was created was when Hannah fell down then she started walking funny, so me and Jenna started walking like penguins to immitate her.
To celebrate this holiday, you will need a penguin costume, a set of flippers, and a short stubby beak. On this day, we will feast on lots of penguin shaped cake, and fish shaped cookies!
After school, everyone will go to the ice-skating rink. There we will drink pop, skate untill we ache, and have us some awesome fun!!!
I hope that International Dress Like a penguin day will really be international some day! Thanks for reading!

Cat's Galore!!!

When I was on my way to get my two cats, my favorite song was on the radio. It made me feel happy and exited like every time I heard it on the radio or on my iPod. On our way, we were thinking up names for the small creatures that were about to be held in our family's possession. We thought about naming them Chocolate and Chip, Bingo and Sassy, Fuzzy and Fluffy, Sweet and Sour and many more.
As we walked through the mystified air to the woman's garage, I saw the most dainty adorable little kittens in the world! Just like the song, you can always find something new.  I opened the cage that the cat's were in and the small gray one crawled softly on to my arm, then on my shoulder, and right on top of my head! We should name her Sassy and the Other one Bingo! So that was that, their names' are now Sassy and Bingo, and have been for the past four years.
