Toothpaste vs. Lipstick

"Aha now I have good breath. Now all I need is some lipstick to touch it up." is this your daily routine in the morning? Well have you noticed the similarities and the differences of lipstick and tooth paste? In my paper I will tell you both.

Lipstick and toothpaste both have something to do with your mouth. Inside or out. They somehow make you look good. They also have some type of taste. Also for thous girls they get you guys.

Now just lipstick. Lipstick goes on your lips. It makes your lips look colorful or the same color as your lips just more fuller. Unlike toothpaste lipstick is a squishy soft.

Now just toothpaste. Toothpaste is gooey, and it has (usually) a minty flavor. Unlike lipstick, toothpaste goes in your mouth. It make your breath smell good.

That's the similarity's and differences of toothpaste and lipstick!:)

My first dog!

Have you ever wanted something so bad you had dreams about it or even day dreams about it. Well I Emma Gosnell have wanted a dog ever sense I was 6. So here's my story.
I was eight years old ,and it was a warm spring day. Then I was done with dreaming about dog. So I burst with winning.
"Please can I have a dog please, please , please!!!!"
If you don't know my mom. Then you don't know that she always says that we are never home to take care of it. But this time she said something different.
"Maybe if you get a A+ on your next spelling test then we can get a dog."
Right when she said that I ran upstairs to study. I ran into my pink colored room, and the big window was blinding me with all of the sunshine. I sat on my yellow and pink flowery quilt, and studied my butt off for an hour or two.
The next day i took the test, and all I could think about was what kind of dog to get.
When the teacher handed back our test. I looked at the score and it was an.......
A+! when I got my test back I yelled
" YES"
Really loud. Everyone looked.

When I walked through the door to my house. I smelled the smell of cooked spaghetti.
" Mom mom look what I got on my test. An A+ an A+"
My mom was so happy for me. I was so happy.

My mom told me that we can go look for a dog this weekend. At school I was just shaking in my chair. My best friend asked.
" Why are you so jumpy today all of a sudden."
Time passed and i marked on my calendar every day the day got closer to be getting my new dog.
" BRRRRRIIIINNNGGG BRRRRIIINNNGGG"
Went my alarm clock. It was Saturday morning finialy. I rushed out of bed and flew to get dressed and to eat breakfast. Then I was out the door to get a dog!
When we got to the ARL we saw all of the most cutest dogs ever. I found lots of them I liked.

Finialy I chose a dog that was part based hound, Dausion, and part Beagle. it was really cute. He had based hound eyes, long body like a Dausion, and his color nose,and tail as a Beagle . I named him Gorgie.

I found out thit if you want something then work hard at it and you might get it.

Cellphone ?

"Mom, Mom!!! Please can I have a cell phone? Everyone else has one." Have you heard that before? Have you thought of both sides of having a phone? I think that everyone that is a young teen should have a cell phone. Are you ready for your child to have a phone or not?

I think that young teens should have a phone because they can keep in touch with friends, and family. They can keep undated on what's happening in the school and with friends. Also, they can keep pictures of special moments like a vacation or trip. Some phones have internet access so they can check the weather, news, sports, etc. Some have an MP3 player/Ipod built into them so they can listen to music while doing household work.

Some people think we should not have a phone because they think we will be rude with the phone. Another reason is that we will spend too much time on the phone talking or texting. One way we could fix that is by not texting during lunch or when someone is talking to us. The last reason is adults think we will misuse the phone, such as taking bad pictures of one another.

I hope you thought of the positive side about my opinion, and thought of getting your child a phone.

History Changed

The story of the man on the moon changed everything. That day history changed.

How old were you when the first man walked on the moon?

I was 15 years old.

Was it exciting to you, if so why?

Yes, it was exciting because we saw history being made, and no one has been on the moon before.

What were you doing at the time?

I was at my grandpas house, and watching it on black and white T.V.

Did it make you more interested in space?

Yes, because someone was on the moon!

Do you remember what he said, if so what.

"One small step for man one giant step for mankind."

Did people talk about it the next day?

Yes, all around the world. It was the story of the century.

Do you think it changed anything, if so why?

Yes, it changed lots of things! Like outer space could happen. We did something people thought could not happen.

The man walking on the moon, I was not alive at that time. It didn't mean that much to me. Now I know it changed history. I will never forget how important this event was.

ISLALD

Have you ever got to spit were you want? Well ISLALD you can. ISLALD stands for international spit like a lama day. It is the slimmest day of your life. When you go to school on June 1st the fun begins .You will slip on tile , because of all the spit on the ground . All you will here is "pu pu pu " ,and "eww it is green" this probably the worst day of teachers life. Their will be spit in their classrooms. But they will enjoy it too. the people who will also enjoy is the janitors. They will work extra hours and get paid more. This is why you should celebrate ISLALD!!!!!!:)

HOMECOMING

Homecoming in Waukee was great! Let me tell you about it. Before the game we had a party. When I walked into the room, I could smell the pizza from pizza hut. I could here the music,ringing in my ears. Just as my friends came in the party was a blast.

       It was about an hour so we decided to leave ,and walk to the game.I walked with a few friends. When We were walking i could here my friends saying "come sit with me, come sit with me".When we got our tickets. i could smell the popcorn , it smelt like Butter. SO us 6Th graders. have a section So we went to go sit there.So wile I was at the game I did as usually. Got popcorn,(because it smells so good), and walked around ,with friends And of course watched the game.

       All of a sudden I heard YAAAs and WOOOOOs Then someone next to me said WE WON! Then that was the game. SO this is what a Waukee Homecoming is like.
