Phase two of blogging

Young Writers,

In the first 5 days since you were given your blogs, you have amassed 50% of the number of posts by students last year! That is amazing. As we discussed in class on Thursday (Mrs. Quam's classes) and Friday (my classes), quantity is not the only goal when using blogging as a writing tool. Since we decided to turn on the approval process for posts, the quality has skyrocketed and the quantity has dipped. This is just fine. We want you to continue writing, and also to continue choosing the right tool for the job.

To recap:

• As Ralph Fletcher says, "Writers react. And writers need a place to record those reactions. That's what a writer's notebook is for."
• As Mr. Goerend says, "Writers edit, revise, discuss, and revise again. And writers need a place to publish that revised material. That's what blogs can be used for."

So keep writing. Keep collecting those notes in your writer's notebooks. Keep revising, editing, discussing, re-revising, re-editing, and publishing!

Seeing you all so excited made my day

Students,

Today you got your blogs. There was a buzz in the computer lab while you were figuring out how to access them. You worked on titling your posts to pull people in. You wrote posts that told us how excited you are to have your own blogs. I hope this first post on your blogs is one you look back on later in the year to see how much you’ve grown.

Some of you received error messages. Some of your computers were slow to connect. Error messages and slow connections are a fact of life on the Internet. As a group, I want us to work to be patient when faced with these challenges. We need to show perseverance.

I’m proud of how you wrote in quality paragraphs. That is a skill we will continue working on. We write in quality paragraphs to give people enough information to be able to connect to our writing. We also want to be detailed enough in our writing so people can picture what we are describing. Quality paragraphs are a foundation of good writing.

We will continue to work on leaving quality comments. We want to encourage each other with our comments. We want to leave constructive feedback so we can learn. We also want to share the connections we make with each other to build community. Giving and receiving quality feedback is an important part of the writing process.

The excitement you showed today while posting on your blogs is one of the reasons I am proud to be your teacher. Continue to be excited about writing and using digital technology to become better writers. Be sure to fill your writer’s notebook with ideas for stories and poems and essays to publish.

One Kneeboard or Two Skis

Imagine yourself on a bright, scorching summer day. The boat pulls you up and your off! You decide your done after a while of pure fun and let go of the rope. Swimming back to the boat, climbing up the ladder at the back of the boat, then grabbing a towel. You hands are all blistered and hurt from the rope but you know it was worth it.

Kneeboarding and Skiing are very similar. First they both are done on the water and behind a boat. And when your up you can fall and get stuck under either the kneeboard or the ski(s). You can also use the same rope for both sports.

When you're skiing you need to push yourself up. When the boat starts you push on your feet and stand up straight. You can also ski with two skis together,(A long rectangular shaped thing that connects your skis so they stay together and not go different directions) two skis seprate, or slalom skiing. (only 1 ski) When you fall you can also hit your head on one of the skis and get a bump or worse....STITCHES!

Kneeboarding is alsoa GREAT sport to do. When you're kneeboarding you start by laying on the board witht the rope in both of your hands. Then when the boat picks up speed you slide your knees up onto the board. Then you hlod onto the rope with one hand and get the knee strap over your knees. When you fall off the kneeboard you can just tip right over. You can get hurt a lot easier on a kneeboard in my opinion. You also can only kneeboard with 1 kneeboard, you can't slalom like skiing.

I hope someday you will go try skiing, kneeboarding, or both. I can gurantee you that you will enjoy it. I know I do!

Christmas Vs The fourth of July (newly revised)

"Hello and welcome to the calendar.I'm your announcer Month of the year. We are gathered here today to witness an epic battle between two holidays. Now that I've introduced myself lets introduce our fighters.

In the left corner with a total of Thirty days, give it up for The fourth of July!!! In the right corner with a total of Thirty days, lets hear it for Christmas!!! Now lets get ready for the holidays."

"All right July I'm gonna knock you out cold", boasted Christmas.

"How do you plan on doing that?" Snarled July.

"Well I'm gonna put you to sleep with my Christmas carols!" Said Christmas

"July is on his back from that powerful shot." Said the announcer."But wait he is getting back up!"

"All right Christmas you are a formidable opponent, but I'm gonna knock you out with my stunning fireworks."

"Christmas is on his back"." Ding ,Ding"" Christmas was saved by the bell. We'll wait while they get some pep talk from their coaches.

"Christmas what are you doing out there? You can beat this guy no problem."Said Christmases coaches

"July get out there and show the world why you deserve the title of ultimate holiday!"
"Fighters return to the center of the calendar" said the announcer.

"Fight" screamed the ref.
"All right July now I am gonna knock your days off". said Christmas

" What makes you say that?." said July.

"Well first I am gonna knock your block off with my jolly spirit."
" Oh man July took a hit" said the announcer.
"Now it's my turn, I'm gonna beat your weeks out with my special parade punch!"
" Ouch, Christmas is gonna feel that one in the morning!" Yelled the announcer.
That was the final round folks lets see who the judges said won. I don't believe this its a tie!"Screamed the announcer.

Epilogue

Christmas and July became good friends. They both still fight in the UHC. Also this fight was sponsored by holiday inn.

Soccer or Baseball?

Imagine if you are running down a field with a ball between your feet or imagine yourself running around bases and scoring the winning run. Here are some differences and similarities.

Some differences are in soccer you use your feet and in baseball you use your hands. To move the ball around in soccer you kick it and in baseball you throw it. In baseball you have to score in a net and in baseball you run around the bases to get a run.

Some similarities are....In each sport you have a goal and that's to win the game! In each sport you need points in order to win. The last important thing is you get to play the sport.

I hope i've giving you enough information to decide which sport you might want to play my favorite is soccer. MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION!

What is soccer?

It was May 9th,2010, Mother's Day. My spring soccer season was starting, I have been playing soccer since I was around 8 and it has been an amazing ride. I was ready, today I would fight for my mom on the field!

We were spending the weekend at my grandma and my grandpa's house in Dubuque. My grandma was making us a big breakfast with pancakes dripping in syrup next to the mushy scrabbled eggs in her aunts old china boil. She also brought out fresh fruit and toasted sausages. My grandma put a lot of time and effort into it, I know she did it for my big game. We talked about my soccer game, my grandma's old friend Pat, and to have a save ride home. Then, it was time to go, so we packed all of our bags in the trunk of our white car. We said our goodbyes with a bundle of hugs and kisses. It was 2 and a half hours to get to a town called Ballard. I remember that I was ready to fight for my mom and make her a goal.The other team was a head taller than most of us. But we weren't scared, maybe a little. The revere blew the whistle and we kicked the ball straight forward, bolting past the other team. My mom was cheering for me, she is my inspiration. She will always watch me and afterward, tell me things I did good at and need to work on. We took awhile before we got a chance to kick the ball, it was right after they made a goal we got a shot. We were all exhausted, huffing and puffing all of the time. Finally, when we had a corner kick on our goal, my friend pasted it to me and I shot like a lightning bolt. (That is what my coach said). The goal y was going to the other side of the goal and with all of my energy, I kicked the ball in the net. I did it, I won the battle!We tied that day, but my mom was shore happy though. I was satisfied.

It was around Fall when I was 8, it was going to be my first game I have ever played.I was very confused with the whole game at first, all of us were at that time. When the ref blew the whistle, we all shot for it. We were all beginners and not skilled at all. We missed at kicks and were running into people a lot. But I made the biggest mistake on field 9 that day.I remember finally got my chance at the ball, but no one was going after me. I really didn't care at all then. So I took one big step back and swung my foot at the ball and it went in. Then I thought, no hi-fives. Everyone then was staring at me. It took me about 20 seconds that I was on my side, I MADE A GOAL ON THE WRONG SIDE!! I remember feeling worthless and let down. All I wanted to do was hop in the car and drive away. Then I looked at my mom and my teammates, what they never want me on there team again or never want to talk or see me again. I managed to play the rest of the game. My old coach took me aside and told me that every thing was going to be alright, I didn't know that at the time. When I went over to my mom, she took me and held me close. I cried for awhile after that, then she said it was silly to cry over a game.

I hope that you all have learned my message. Soccer is a fabulous sport to some people and to others it is OK. Everyone has there own opinion about everything, even you.

In this essay I will be explaining the differences and similarities of my 2 little Brothers Brock and Carson.
Brock is in 1st grade and is 7 years old. He has brown hair. He likes to play hockey and football. His favorite food is butter noodles and his hair goes down to his shoulders.
Carson is in 4th grade and is 10 years old. He has blond short hair. He likes swimming and his favorite food is little Smokies.
Some similarities are that they both play baseball. They both have green eyes. They both like to play outside, play video games, watch T.V., play computer games, and play with toys when it’s raining.
So that’s the story of my 2 little Brothers.

Soccer vs Soccer

My p.e. teacher says soccer is a dumb sport. So do a lot of people in the U.S.A. But when you travel around the world a lot of people love it. You always here soccer is a dumb sport because you ask people in the U.S.A. and it's not popular here.

Soccer in the U.S.A. is different from the world because U.S.A. doesn't like using there hands. The U.S.A. doesn't get huge soccer stars like the world gets. Soccer around the world the team's are good and not the U.S.A.

They are the same because they get fan's to support there teams. They both have the rules and they both play 11 vs 11. The fields are the same size about the size of a football field with end zone's. They both have tournaments and play in the World Cup.

You would think soccer in the U.S.A. is like soccer around the world. Now you know soccer is different and the #1 sport around the earth.

Warriors and Redwall

The Redwall and Warrior series of books are both of the fantasty genre. There are many things that Redwall and Warriors and series have in common. They both use animals as the main characters. They both have viscous cats as characters in the stories but in Redwall they are used as villians and in the Warrior books they are used as villians and also as heroes. Redwall has no humans in its series but the Warrior series does have humans as characters. Both series have battles and wars that take place. In the Warriors book the cats have no houses, just the ground to sleep on, in Redwall they do have houses to live in. Both series have great story lines.

Which Series?

Still can't find a book or series to read? Well, that problem is solved. I have the perfect 2 series for you to read. But these are very different series. I shall tell you why.
The first series is Twilight. Now I know not everyone likes them. Well, most people have not read them. The first book of the series, Twilight, is mainly about vampires. The main characters are Bella, Edward, and Jacob. This series is a very long series. I'm talking 4 very thick books. Beware they will take awhile to read unless you are a fast reader.
The next series, Harry Potter, is a series young readers love. But this series is very different then Twilight. The first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, is about wizards. The main characters are Harry, (Hence the series name) Ron, and Hermonie. This series has 7 books. They get thicker as you go into the series. The first few, are not as thick, but packed-full of adventure.
Both of these series include fictional characters. Obviously we can't fly and we are not vampires. These books are both written by female authors. Stephenie Meyer, and J.K. Rowling. Finally, these series are very popular. I don't think I've met someone who hasn't heard of these series.
Now that I've told you about 2 of my absolute favorite series, I hope you might read them someday.

Pizza vs Nacho's

Have you ever tasted a mouth watering pizza or a crispy nacho? The first time I had a mouth watering pizza was at Pizza Ranch they have awesome pizza. I was eating with my family and it was the best pizza I had ever had. The first time I had a crispy nacho was at a kum an go. Me and my family were on a trip and we had to stop and that's when I had a crispy nacho! Well I'm going to tell you about the similarities . And which one is awesome.

When you taste a pizza it probably taste's watery, juicy, crispy. A pizza is normally for dinner, lunch, or a snack if you need one.A pizza can have different crusts like a thick one, a thine one,and even a soft one. On a pizza you can put almost anything on it like mushrooms, chicken, pepperoni, onions, pineapple, Canadian, hamburger, e

When you taste a nacho it probably taste's crunchy, crispy, and they are very good tasting. Nacho's are normally yellowish but can be different colors. Nacho's can be eaten with about anything like mushrooms, salsa, onions,

The similarities are that they are able to be eaten with anything. They are very good and that they have different things that can be changed.

My opinion is that pizza is awesome. Next time you have a pizza or nacho's make sure you get a lot of toppings and have fun eating your spicy and crunchy pizza and nacho's.

You think that's funny??

Dancin' or Swimin'

If I had a choice I would swim all morning and dance all afternoon. What about you? Do you like to swim or dance? Do you thing they have anything in common? I didn't think that they had this many things in common till now. In this essay you will see the similarities and differences between dancing and swimming.

First I will start off with the similarities. One of the most obvious one is that they are both sports. A sport is where you are physically active. In swimming and dance you are very active. Another similarity is that there is a variety of different kinds for both of them. In dance there is tap, ballet, and many more! In swimming there is backstroke, butterfly, and many more! Now you see that there is some similarities between dancing and swimming. There are plenty more if you can think of some.

Next are the differences between swimming and dancing. First there is a pretty obvious one. When you swim you are in the water. When you dance you can be anywhere on land. Another difference is that for dance you have to wear a leotard, tights, and a skirt or shorts. When you swim you have to wear a swim suit, a cap, and goggles. Now you see that there are some differences to these to sports. You could probably find some more if you think about it.

After this essay you have seen that there are some differences and similarities between dancing and swimming!!

The 2 chip dips.

Salsa and guacomole are tow of my favorite chip dips! People all over the world eat them and they are very delicious. Today i will be comparing salsa and guacomole using similarities and differences.

Salsa is very different than guacomole. Salsa is more liquidy and is usally mildly spicy, or very hot. Salsa was invented (or created) by mexicans. Also, salsa has many different ingredients such as: tomatoes, corn, jalopenos, and much more!

Guacomole is very tasty and different from salsa. It is thick, and creamy made with avocado's! Another thing is that this chip dip isn't mainly just used for chip dips. It is used in recipes and can be eaten alone!(rarely)

These two chip dips are very similar. They are obviouly both used for dipping chips into, and they are both served in almost all mexican restaurants! Another thing they have in common is they are oten home-made foods.

I hope I have informed you a little bit about the differences and similarities of salsa and guacomole!

Birthday Bashes And Boring Books

When you think of birthday parties and books,

do you instantly think of something? No! Because these two subjects have nothing to do with each other!!! But that's what you think, they have a lot in common!

Birthday parties have themes and books have genres!
There are many themes to a birthday, you could have a pirate theme, a swimming theme, a car theme, a tea party theme and lots more!!! Books have genres, some genres are nonfiction, fiction, historical fiction, realistic fiction, science fiction, mystery, and fantasy.
You may not think about it but books and parties give us feelings,
like if a book is pretty sad you start to feel sad or upset, or if a birthday party is really lame you feel bored! Some parties and books can effect your emotions sometimes!
Usually it takes days to read a book but,
It only takes a few hours to celebrate a birthday party. Most people would rather go to a birthday party than read a book. There's more socializing at a birthday party than there is when you are reading a book.
Birthdays come once a year, but books are published everyday!
But one thing for sure is that birthday parties and books are both enjoyable to everyone!

Lots and Lots of Pie

Do you enjoy pie? I like pie and I am going to talk about two specific kinds of pie, pecan and apple. I will tell you their differences and their similarities.
Pecan pie, it gets its name from the pecan nuts on it. What makes it different from apple pie is that it isn't made with fruit. It is less healthy, as it has more calories, more fat, and more sugar. I also think it isn't very good tasting.
Apple pie, it gets its name from the apples in it. It is full of fruit unlike pecan. If you ever want dessert but you says no tell her its "healthy" because it has fruit in it. It is healthier than pecan pie. Also I think it tastes better than pecan pie.
Some similarities are they are both obviously pies. Another one is that they are usually eaten during Thanksgiving or Christmas.
And those are some differences between Apple pie and Pecan pie.

Which One?

What are the similarities? What are the differences? Who would even care to compare and contrast these objects? By now your probably wondering what I'm talking about. In this essay you will read how books and binders have similarities and differences.

Books and binders have some things in common. Obviously, they both can open up. They both have covers, too. Last, the both can hold secrets and/or documents.

They also have some differences. Books have perilous adventures, or strange mysteries. Normally binders don't. Books also have titles and are typed. Binders hold work for multiple choices when a book stays on the same topic. Last, books don't help you get organized, when binders have different sections for you to put your work in. The illustrators for books choose the covers/colors, when you get to choose the colors for binders.

After you have read all this information, you can answer this question: Which one do you think is better?

Your Lives Can Change In Just Seconds!

It takes seconds for a hurricane and earthquake to change our lives. In those seconds, we can get seriously hurt or killed and lose our homes with entire cities also being destroyed. I am going to compare and contrast both hurricanes and earthquakes and start by giving the similarities between both of them.
One similarity is that they both come from an act of nature which means they can both happen on their own at any time when conditions are right. This really freaks me out because if I am on a trip where one of these could occur, I am afraid that one of these might happen while I'm there. Another similarity is that they can change our lives in seconds by making us poor, sad and even killing us. Things that you should have if one of these would hit are health products water, foods and tools. Another similarity is that they can both be recorded on the Richter scale. The Richter scale is something that records when the earth moves. It has been documented that a powerful hurricane can cause the ground to shake with it's vicious winds. Now I am going to talk about earthquakes.
Earthquakes can destroy a lot of things such as the ground, trees, buildings, lives and entire cities. Another thing is unlike hurricanes, you can't predict earthquakes. So if you live somewhere where an earthquake can strike, you should always be on alert. Scientists record earthquakes as magnitudes on a scale of one to ten with ten being the strongest. Just this year (2010) one of the world strongest earthquakes hit in Chile which was 8.8 magnitude and the earthquake even made our days shorter by a few milliseconds. Now I am going to talk about hurricanes.
Hurricanes usually happen around the ocean so if you live around an ocean and you can get a hurricane, always watch the weather to be safe. Hurricanes can be predicted unlike earthquakes so if the weather service is predicting one, get out of there till the storm is over. Hurricanes can cause terrible damage, horrible floods and even can develop a tornado. Hurricanes can be recorded as categories on a scale of 1 to 5. A category 5 hurricane is the highest category that can be recorded and they record them by the wind speeds inside the hurricane. Hurricanes can have winds up to 300 mph which would make it a category 5. That is why hurricanes are very dangerous to be in because of the high speed winds. Be sure to never stay at your house during a hurricane.
Earthquakes and hurricanes are both very dangerous natural disasters so never get caught up in them if you can help it. Due to the unpredictability of both of these disasters, you may not have much of a choice.

Airsoft or Paintball

I love sports and I also love these two action sports airsoft and paintball. In this post I will tell you about the similarities and differences.
The similarities are that they are both of a sports that include shooting but that both can not kill you. They also both use the rules are pretty much the same to. They also have gas guns too.
Now to the differences. the ammo is so different. Airsoft ammo is made out of plastic a is pretty small and can be different colors. But the paint balls are pretty big and when it hits something it explodes. Now to the guns airsoft guns look real but the paintball guns don't look real. But all of the paintball guns take gas to shoot but airsoft has spring electric and gas. Plus paintball hurts more in my opinion. But I like airsoft better.

Steak and Pasta or Pasta and Steak

I love almost all foods but my two favorite foods have to be steak and pasta. They are the same and different in many ways. So, in this essay I will explain the similarity's and different s for steak and pasta.

One of the things that they both have in common is they have so many different things you can putt in them. Like pasta can go with brown beef, crunchy chicken, and fresh fish. With steak, you can put fabulous purple, orange, and yellow fruit, green, yellow, and brown vegetables, or mushy mashed potatoes with brown gravy.The possibility's are endless. Another thing in common is that they smell incredible when they are ready to eat. Steak smells like the outdoors with hits of seasonings.Pasta smells like what ever you put into it. Like spaghetti, it makes me imagine of Paris in an Italian restaurant. They both taste amazing in there own ways. Steak is chewy, juicy, and buff, I like to fell the flavors running down my throat like a race. Pasta is warm, soft, and light, I can explore all of the ingredients in the pasta.

Some of the different things between steak and pasta is that there are cooked differently. Pasta is cooked by boiling water over a steaming stove.The way a steak is cooked is by a gas, electric, or a charcoal grill. Steak and Pasta are also served differently. The steak can be made rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well done.I prefer medium well, not to hard and not to chewy. For pasta, there is al denta which is when the noodles are not cooked all the way, and then there is normal pasta, which is what I like, not to floppy and not to crunchy. The places were you get them are different too. When you want to buy steak at a restaurant, sometimes the place is like a half restaurant and half bar, with lots of t.vs all over, and there is nice restaurants with beautiful tables and silverware. With pasta, I can say, that you can buy it anywhere, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, sports restaurants, you name it.

Well we talked about pasta and steak a lot and how they are alike and different from each other. I enjoy eating them both very much. So is it Steak and Pasta or Pasta and Steak? I love them both equally, if someone combined steak and pasta as one food, that would be my favorite food in the whole wide milky way. What is your favorite foods?

Story of My Life!

Have you ever noticed that two random things can be really alike, yet very different? I did. I just had to look at the story of my life. It made me think about comparing people to something I really like - books. It doesn't seem likely that there are a lot of similarities between the two, but trust me, there's plenty! However, books and people have their differences too.

Books and people do have similarities. Such as, we both have "covers" to hide our stories or history under - people's "covers" aren't made of paper, but they can certainly hide the story.

Both books and people have stories to tell, and they can be surprising or unexpected. And characters in a book can show feelings, just like people. Finally, if we're broken or ripped, it takes awhile to mend either of us back together.

Books are simply paper and ink that tell a good story. But like the process of a person's life, books are a lot of work to get told. Books start with the writer's ideas, then go writing, editing and rewriting, before finally publishing, and the work of selling a manuscript!

People are made of flesh and blood, different from books. Even so, books can speak and communicate with you, although not verbally. People communicate both verbally and non-verbally. We can talk with our hands, our face and actions, as well as with words, just like books do, even using all the messaging systems we've devised.

It was surprisingly easy to find similarities for these two very different topics - easier than I would have thought, anyway! Differences were pretty easy to find too. While books are inanimate objects, humans are living, breathing creatures who create life stories, not just tell them!

"Allright Christmas I'm gonna knock the jollyness out of you". Said July. "What makes you say that". " Well for starters my fireworks will knock you off your feet". " Oh Christmas takes a powerful blow". Said the announcer. " Wait Christmas is getting up!"

" Allright July I'll admit you're the real deal. But can you stand my Christmas cheer". "Fourth of July takes a powerful shot and is on his back".

" Ding , ding" "That's the end of the first round and man that was a fight to the finish". While in their corners the fighters were getting a little pep talk. " Allright Christmas listen up you can bring more cheer than this guy". Said coach. "July knock the jolly out of him". Said the other coach. " Allright fighters please re-enter the calendar."

"Allright July this time I'm gonna knock your weeks off".said Christmas. " Good googly moogly July is on his back after that ferocious punch". said the announcer. " He is back on his feet but sadly it is the end of the fight!" The judges have just informed me it is a draw." Shake hands fighters. See you next time on UHC.

Play Time or Learn Time

Do you like dogs and hate school or do you hate dogs and like school? Do you hate both or like both? Do you think dogs and school have nothing in common? Well you thought wrong!

lets start with the differences to make it easier to find the similarities. How about we start with dogs. Dogs are adorable, loyal and need to be taken care of. They live in your home and you take them to the vet. Some people agree with me that dogs are the best pet to have while others don't agree. I think dogs can be fun but sometimes annoying.

Now on to school. School can be fun but not all the time! School has kids,kids, and more kids all over the place! They are all carrying books, binders , pencils,and pens. Most kids ride the bus while others walk or there parents take them to and from school. In my opinion school is not my favorite. Almost everyday you come home with homework!

Now the similarities. For a dog you are the teacher and you have teachers at school. Dogs have to go by rules like dint drink ou the toilet bowl. We also have rules. At school you might learn about fractions. Dogs might learn its bad to chew on dads new (expensive) shoes. Last you can get a dog at any age and go to school at any age.

Now you know how dogs and school are alike. So now you can learn even when you play fetch with your dog, mans best friend!

are the same, how about when they are totally different?
Are you interested, because that's what I'm going to be
talking about.

Your probably wondering what books and posters have
to do with anything, well books have pictures that can
give you information just like posters can. Posters and
books can also give lots of important information.

Did you ever think about their differences though? Books
have pages of information when posters only have 2-3
paragraphs for each piece of information. Books are
descriptive when posters can be descriptive but books
are way more descriptive!

Now that you know my facts about them here's my
question... which one do you like best?

Vacuum v.s. Dog

Did you ever notice that a dog and a vacuum have some similarities? No? I didn't think they did either before I actually thought about it. Let me tell you some similarities and differences between a dog and a vacuum.

Lets start off with dogs and how different they are compared to vacuums. First, dogs are living mammals. You have to feed them and take them on walks. Yes, dogs need exercise too! You also can cuddle with them and pet them. (You can with a vacuum but that would be weird!) Dogs have fur that have fur that can be many different colors and textures like black, grey, white, brown, and curly, smooth, shaggy, and many more. Dogs need bathes and haircuts just like humans. Lastly, dogs have human features such as eyes, mouths, ears, and noses.

Now, lets see how different vacuums are from dogs. First, vacuums are not living. (duh!) They are electronical and they usually only work if they are plugged into the wall. You have to change the bag in them so it doesnt overflow. Vacuums are usually made of plastic and have a hard texture. Lastly, vacuums have a switch on them so you can turn them on or off.

Why would I compare vacuums and dogs you say? Why out of all think would I pick these two very different things? Well, I did because I want you to know that they have similarities too! Here are a few. They both clean up after you. A vacuum cleans up dirt that you might track in from your shoes. A dog might clean up some grape jelly after you spilt it on the floor. They both have a tail. You're thinking they dont but they do! A dog has a tail by its backside. A vacuum has a long tube like thing that you use to clean the corners of your house- thats its tail! And lastly, they both make loud noises. a dog barks and a vacuum.... VVVVVVVVVVMMMMMMS!

So now do you believe that vacuums and dogs have similarities? Well I do! And I know that they have differences too! I hoped you learned that two completely different things might have some things in common if you really think about it. Thanks for reading my essay.

The Amazing Race vs. Survivor

Have you ever watched my favorite shows? They are Survivor and The Amazing Race. If you haven’t seen them, Survivor is a show where players are put into tribes with other people you’ve never met in your whole life and have to work together to complete challenges. The challenges in Survivor are usually physical activities/races or puzzles. All challenges are outdoors. The team that loses the immunity challenge has to go to tribal council where someone will be voted off by their own tribe. They are with their tribe until there are only around ten people left. Then they merge tribes and are all one big tribe but are against each other in individual challenges. People make alliances with each other to make it interesting. Another important part of Survivor is that there is a hidden immunity idol at your camp that you find that will save you if you’re about to get voted out. Survivor is a game of strategy. Lots of people backstab and lie so they can get closer to getting the prize which is $1,000,000!
The Amazing Race is a race where all teams travel to different cities and countries around the world. First you are in teams of two, usually with a family member or a friend who you have met before. You have to complete difficult challenges that may get the teammates mad at each other, which other teams will take advantage of and complete the series of challenges quicker. Each task the teams are asked to perform are all drastically different. The last team to get the challenges done may be eliminated. If you don’t get eliminated then you continue on to the next set of challenges on the next day. If you don’t get eliminated but end up in last place, then you do the same difficult challenges but they would have an extra task to complete and try to beat the other teams. If you are caught cheating or forgot to do something in the race you either get a certain time penalty or you have to go back and do the task over again. The winner of The Amazing Race also wins $1,000,000. Which one do you think sounds more exciting?
Survivor and The Amazing Race are similar because the participants are divided into teams. Both of the prizes for winning are $1,000,000. They both are reality TV shows. Contestants’ are selected by the producers of the shows based on audition tapes. Both shows have challenges the players have to complete to move on in the game. You need to use teamwork if you want to go far in each game. Contestant(s) that are out can’t just choose if you want to stay in or not. They both have different seasons, hosts are both guys, and take place outside the U.S. Contestants on the shows are usually over the age of eighteen and range up to grandparents age.
These shows are both action-packed and exciting, which is why they are two of my favorites. If these shows interest you, Survivor is on at 7:00 pm on Thursday, and The Amazing Race is on at 7:00 pm on Sunday. You should watch them. I bet one of them will become one of your favorite shows. Tell me which show is your favorite and compare them. You will be surprised at how many similarities there are between them, I know I was.

PS3 VS WII

Have you ever noticed the differences and similarities between a PS3 and the wii, well in this essay i am going to list all of them. i am going to start with the PS3, for example the PS3 has better graphics than the wii, the PS3 also plays blu ray DVDs on it. the PS3 lets you store photos from your different games, both the wii and the PS3 allows you to connect to the Internet. Now i will list differences and similarities for the wii, the wii has more games than the PS3, the wii consul give you a workout while playing some of the games. the wii also has hand held controllers, compared to the PS3 which has regular controllers. the wii also includes the wii shop channel, mii channel, weather channel, news channel, photo channel, and the forecast channel. there you have it, all the differences and similarities between the PS3 and the wii.

War of The Worlds

Do you like Orange Chicken or meatballs? I love them both! That's why I decided to compare and contrast Chinese and Itailian food. I just love to go to Chinese and Italian restaurants and try foods or eat foods I love.


You may not have realized how many similarities there are between two completely different countries. Well, first of all they are both foods that did not orginate in America, but you can find Chinese and Italian restaurants all over the United States. Americans eat these delicious and amazing foods.


Chinese food is very different from your traditional hamburger and fries. First of all Chinese food comes from China. It is also packaged with symbols. If you go shopping at your regular Hy-Vee, you are going to find a whole case of Chinese food. Usually you order out Chinese food since it is hard to make because it needs such extreme heat. Some kinds of Chinese foods are Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Egg Rolls, and Crab Rangoons.


Italian food has been highly influential on the American diet. Although it orginates in Italy. Italian foods could be anything to spagetti, pizza, pastas, and pitas. Wine is also a major part of the Italians diet. Espresso coffee is also a major part of a typical Italian person. Even though coffee orginated from Ethiopia. A majority of the pasta you eat for lunch or dinner comes from Italy.


So Chinese and Italian food have some simalarities you wouldn't necassarily think of off the top of your head. But then again they are still very different and don't originate from America.

Baseball or School

Those two scenes are from baseball and school which you hear everyday. Baseball and school are a lot alike if you think very hard. one similarity is you are with your friends. Secondly you are learning something. Last but not least you are always thinking a step ahead like in baseball when your in the field you always have to think "If the ball is hit to me what am I gonna do with it? As with school your always thinking ahead by if you have a project what am I gonna do and when am I gonna do it. They also have some differences one is baseball is active and school is not. Secondly in school you wear clothes and in baseball you wear a uniform. Last but not least baseball is fun and school is boring.

Have you ever wondered what are the similarities and differences of tacos and sandwiches? Well i will tell you.

Tacos can have a hard shell for the taco of a soft shell. I prefer soft shell. Tacos can have meat,lettuce,tomatoes and more. Usually you can get tacos at every Mexican restaurant. Since tacos are Mexican food.

Here i will talk about sandwiches. Sandwiches can have many different stuff on them like Peanut butter and a lot of more. And their is many different types of bread.

Now i will talk about the similarities of tacos and sandwiches. They can both have meat in them. you can eat both of them. you can put a lot of different stuff in both of them.

And now you know the similareties and differences of tacos and sandwiches.

2 major clothes brands

Have you ever noticed the good parts and bad parts about American eagle and Aberocombie? I like both brands, but there are also reasons I don't like them. First off Aberocombie put very strong colonel on there clothes. But some times they put to much on. I can tell because sometimes I walk by their store and and I think to my self "what is that smell?"

But to enter Amborcrombie is fascinating. You see a lot of different clothing style and colors. usually the backdrop is gray. Also the people who run that store put music on. but it really quite and I never really did understand that. so to me it is very down-beat. Aberocombie also has a trade mark they usually put that trade mark on some of their clothing. It is the A&f they put on T-shirts.

American eagle has almost all their jeans ripped. That might leave people cold. But other people (like me) think it is cool. Entering American eagle is much more up-beat. they play a lot of the music I like to listen to. It is also somewhat louder so i can hear it. A trade mark of American eagle is obviously is the eagle and the

Do you like video gorts?

Do you like video gorts? If your wondering what video gorts is it's a mixture between sports and video games. Now do you understand what that is? I love doing these to things. Since I love them so much I wanted to compare them.

A similarity of sports and video games is that both of them can be easy and both of them can be hard. Another similarity is that you can play sports with both of them. They have sports video games. My favorite sports video games are the EA sports. One more similarity is that there are many choices on playing or doing these two things.

When there are similarities, there are differences. Its real life when it comes to sports but in video games it is realistic but not real. In video games you have to use a controller,but when you play sports you don't use a controller. One more difference is that in video games you don't win awards and in sports you actually do win awards.

Those are a little bit of similarities and differences of sports and video games.

what (car) are you?

I have only one question for you. Do you like the 2010 Honda Odyssey or the 2010 Corvette. My job is to tell you about these two awesome cars.

When I think of the Honda Odyssey I think of a vacation and a family. When I think Corvette I think of a person that is cool and rich.

Odysseys are good for vacations because they have a roomy interior with a lot of storage space. These vans can come in many different colors and you can get a small TV screen for the inside of the car. This car also has side doors in the back that slide so the wind can't slam them shut.

Corvettes are a good car that can be put on show and to show off your money. This is a good car if you are single or if there are 2 of you. These cars have moderately loud V8 engines and are really fast. These cars have very good aerodynamics.

I have told you every thing that you need to know except my opinion and it is the corvette because they are fast and Furious.

Leap or Kick

Have you ever played soccer or did dance? Well I have! Both are very fun sports. But there different in many ways. It might be very different but the differences are what makes it fun!

Now lets take a look at dance. Dance is usually considered a sport. So is soccer. You can get a great exercise by doing many different types of dance. But you can also get an exercise from playing soccer. Dance you usually have to have a certain type of shoe. For soccer you have to also wear a certain type of shoe. You can do competitive dance if you want. You can also join competitive soccer.

Soccer is on grass. Dance is usually in a dance studio. That's just one difference. In dance you wear costumes when you perform. In soccer you wear a jersey when you have a game. Also in soccer your running around more. I could probably list a lot more differences but that would take a while.

Soccer and dance are pretty different sports. But there both very fun. I like them both even though they have quite a few differences. But they do have some similarities. Even though there different you should try playing soccer and dance!

i-Touch v.s. Books

There's one main way to read, a book. But in Mr. Goerend's 5/6 English class, we are allowed to use our i-Touches to read. I like both ways, but i-Touches are more fun in my opinion.

Books are a good way to read. Well a great way. There are not many ways to read at all, and all most everyone uses books. Books are very easy to get. But you would have to go to a library or store to get it. And you have to keep going back to get different books. Compared to the i-Touch, reading a book seems boring.

The i-Touch is another great way to read. One of the few. People enjoy using the i-Touch instead of a book. Sliding is much more fun than flipping a page. You can pick from a selection of books at the touch of a finger, no need to go to a store. But not every one has an i-Touch. They are also expensive, so if a student were to lose it there would be trouble. Student could also just play game instead of reading.

Both ways are great ways to read. They both have their pros and cons. Like me, most people prefer the i-Touch to read.

"Hey you", reading this essay. Do you know how teachers boss you around at school and when you go home parents boss you around. They must have loads of things in common. Hmmm I wonder how their alike and how there different?
To start off lets talk similarities, they both care about you and know you by name. Do you know how if your late to class and your teacher yells your name embarrassing you in front of your class. Or when your parents embarrass you by calling you a weird names. I hate that.
If you stay on their good side they should enjoy you being around. The thing that they do that i dislike is they give homework and chores.
If there is similarities there must be differences. Well teachers don't live with you thank goodness, parents live with you ,unless your parent is your teacher then :(
Parents would take care of you if your sick. Teachers just send you home if your sick. If your parents are good you should know more about them than teachers. Parents don't go to your school your teachers teach there!
So.... they are really similar and very different and now you know just a little bit more about both of them. Good luck.

What do your friends and family have in common? What differences do they have? Well I can think of a lot!
Okay, so first of all here are some similarities! Your friends and family are always full of support! for what ever you need help with, or whatever you have accomplished!
They also can be either girls, or boys. Because you both have girls, and boys as friends, and family.
And both of your friends, and your family will always be there for you, and always give you advice when you need help! Because who do you usually go to when you have a situation? YOUR FRIENDS, AND FAMILY!
Also, who do you spend most of your free time with? Your friends and family! Because you spend most of your time with people you like, and have fun with!
So now, here are some differences! So, your family lives with you, but your friends don't. ( Even though it would be awesome if they did!)
Also your friends are not related to you! ( Even though sometimes they fell like they are!) But your family is related to you! Even though it might seem impossible by how different they look or act!
And do you ever have drama between your friends? Well I know I do! But you never really have drama with your family, but you might get in fights sometimes!
The next thing is there ages! So your friends are always your age, unless you have some friends that are a little bit older, or younger than you. But your friends can be all kinds of ages!
So as you can see there are a lot of ideas that your friends and family are really alike, but then again, really different! So how are your friends and family similar, or different?

Baats Bats and more Bats

Metal or Wooden bat? What would you pick? If I had a choice I would pick a metal bat but that's just me. I love metal bats. Do you?

Metal bats are the best in my opinion because no matter how hard you swing the bat will never break in half when you make contact. There made out of a special metal called aluminum.
There also the common type of bat. You will use them in baseball and softball all the way up until college. And the best part is that when you hit a ball it will go farther than if you tried to hit a ball with a wooden bat.

Unlike metal bats wooden bats are made out of all different types of wood, like maple,oak,timber, and bamboo (no joke I checked). But if your on a tight budget I would go with a wooden bat because there cheaper.

All though there are a few similarities, like the most obvious there both used for baseball.
they are also made by some of the same companies like Louisville slugger, and my 2 favorites Easton and TPS.

floor or chair

In this essay you will find out why I think that sitting on floor is uncomfortable. Chairs are alot better to sit in and here is why.

One similarity is they both provide sitting. They also can be soft or hard. They can be colorful and also for gifts. Something that they don't have in common is that chairs are more comfortable. Floors aren't they are more hard and not fun to sit on. Some chairs are the funky ones that are hands or, bean bags, gloves, and ones that turn around. Floors are just plain and don't do anything and there isn't anything good about them except that they are good and soft for your feet. And now that you have learned about both of them what do you choose.

Want Some Pudzza?

Want some pudzza? I do! If your wondering what pudzza is, I don't blame you. It is pudding and pizza combined. Pudding and pizza are my two favorite foods.

Pudding and pizza are nearly the same thing. Well...... sort of. First, their both bought and sold at grocery stores. Also they have many flavors. Ice cream has white vanilla, double chocolate, sweet strawberry, creamy Carmel and many, many more. Pizza also has flavors like delicious pepperoni, mouth watering sausage, spicy taco, the great meat lovers, and of course Canadian bacon pizza. Are you hungry yet? Next, you can buy more than one flavors on one pizza or more than on flavor in one cup. For example, a sausage and pepperoni pizza or a vanilla and chocolate swirl pudding cup.

However there not exactly the same, so they do have some differences. First pizza can be delivered, where pudding can only be store bought. Obviously pizza is hot and pudding is not. Another is that pizza is usually bought in a box, unlike pudding which is sold in a cup. Lastly, there are whole restaurants of just pizza. I don't know about you but I have never seen a restaurant that just sells pudding.

So if your ever wondering what pudzza is know you know.

Humans, Computers.......Similar?

Think about this. Are computers and humans similar? Yes they are, but they are also very different.
Computers and humans are very similar. One reason is both get viruses. When computers get viruses they normally don't work anymore, and for us (humans) we can't do very much. Next, both store information. We (humans) store information in our brains, while computers store information on websites, hard drives, etc. Last of many similarities, both can go to sleep on way or another. Computers go to sleep automatically or you can put it to sleep manually, and humans sleep in some sort of bed.
Computers are different from humans too. Computers have options where you can adjust things like volume, brightness, screensavers, time, etc, where humans can't adjust brightness, don't have screens, and we have clocks to tell time. Computers also have brands, like Apple and Dell, and styles like the iPad, and every brand and style look the exact same. Humans are all unique. Last, computers have programs lake Microsoft Word, Excel, etc, where humans are just skin and bones, no adding programs. Only one more thing, that's it! Humans can use computers but computers can't use humans.
As you can now see, humans and computers are both similar and different. Thanks for reading!

Now seekers is about bears three bears taking a life changing journey,and it's about bears, and they journey, not clan homes.

Have you ever been looking for a classic movie but it is only on tape and you only have a DVD player ?

Now a days people usually get DVD players because they are sold a lot more than VHS players. One, because it is more efficient and more improved technology. plus it has special features like scene selection, bonus features,behind the scenes, and sometimes games.

VHS tapes, they aren't that easy to find these days, there good and classics but they aren't as clear, and they also don't make them much anymore.

Things they have in common are they have been enjoyed by a lot of people and will continue to be enjoyed by for years to come. Also they can be in color or they can not. Last, you can fast forward or rewind them when ever you want.

These are the differences and the similarity's between VHS and DVDs.

Alive, and not so alive.

Are you alive? Of course you are. Or else you would not be reading this. Life and death are both very important. They are both the main events of our life cycle. Both are just natural occurrences that always happen.

Once you enter the world from birth you experience many different events. You start as a baby, then go to school and meet new friends. You can do many activities with friends like playing kickball in a dusty field with the sun blazing. Or you could go exploring in a nearby wood crawling under branches and jumping on stepping stones under the shady leaves. You can also enroll in sports and sport teams. Such as soccer, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and much others. After you graduate school you can get a job and make an independent living without parents affecting you.

Death happens when you become to old of age, have some kind of disease, or death by serious injury. When you die yo will be buried in an old, lonely, depressing cemetery surrounded by other graves. Does that give you happy thoughts? Shortly after your death people will go to a funeral mourning over your death and celebrating your life. Family members, friends, and loved ones will mostly be going to the funeral. In the end they will all go home probably crying.

So basically you can not avoid life or death. You enjoy your life while you can and have a great time doing it hopefully. I hope this speech has helped you understand more about life and death.

Off The Wall

Explosions of color and smell fill the open space around me! A punch of flowers and a kick of M&M's. These two wild things aren't compared on a regular basis, so I will compare them today.

We have, what may seem to be, totally off the wall topics but to your surprise they do have there similarities. These awshocking similarities include them both having a variety of vibrant colors. Some of the colors are light, dark, and regular...

red

blue

pink and many more. Another similarity is that there are different types/kinds. Some of the kinds of flowers are roses, lilies, sunflowers, and tulips. Some types of M&M's are peanut, dark chocolate, and peanut butter. One last similarity is that you can purchase either one of these delightful items.

Now for a few things that M&M's have that flowers don't. First, M&M's are candy and are made for eating. Another thing is that they are man-made and are full of brilliant taste. One more difference is that you can find M&M's at almost any store.

Next, for the things that make flowers unique. To start off, flowers are obviously plants and are a part of nature. Fantastic flowers do have there down sides, one of them being that some of them have thorns and can cut you. One final detail is that flowers are usually used for display or landscaping that has the ability to blow you away.

Brother and Sister

For my comparing essay I am comparing my dogs, Roxie and Yo-yo. I am not saying which dog is better because I like them both equally.

First I'm going to talk about them both. Roxie and Yo-yo are brother and sister. They came from a liter of 6. They're both miniature schnauzers. Miniature schnauzers have beards which make them so adorable.There what is really annoying about them is when they don't listen and they bark high pitched non-stop when sirens are on when the fire or police men come by.



Now, Roxie she is a girl dog. She doesn't have a blob of white hair not even a speck of white hair on her chest, just less than ten white hairs on her neck and her stubby tail combined together! Roxie's beard is all black. Roxie hates when people rub her back paws. She also HATES playing fetch, but she loves pouncing on the ground like a cat. When ever someone gives her a treat she always gets up on her back feet and dances.Roxie is the tough dog, even though she is the younger than him. She's never scared of taking a bath, she just wants to get done with it.


Now, let's move on to Yo-yo. Yo-yo is a boy dog. Unlike his sister he has a huge blob of white fur
just on his chest. His beard is semi ( some what) black with a shade of Burgundy red. He absolutely enjoys when he is getting his paw and belly rubbed! Yo-yo LOVES to play fetch, he can't pounce like Roxie. When ever someones gives him a treat he sits down nice and cute. He tries to act tough but he isn't he always hides behind Roxie when a big dog comes by.He is scared of taking a bath, he won't even go in the bathroom unless it's my moms to cool himself down.


Even though these dogs are sister and brother they can have some similarities and they both can have total diferences!

Toothpaste vs. Lipstick

"Aha now I have good breath. Now all I need is some lipstick to touch it up." is this your daily routine in the morning? Well have you noticed the similarities and the differences of lipstick and tooth paste? In my paper I will tell you both.

Lipstick and toothpaste both have something to do with your mouth. Inside or out. They somehow make you look good. They also have some type of taste. Also for thous girls they get you guys.

Now just lipstick. Lipstick goes on your lips. It makes your lips look colorful or the same color as your lips just more fuller. Unlike toothpaste lipstick is a squishy soft.

Now just toothpaste. Toothpaste is gooey, and it has (usually) a minty flavor. Unlike lipstick, toothpaste goes in your mouth. It make your breath smell good.

That's the similarity's and differences of toothpaste and lipstick!:)

Mom Vs. Dad

For my comparing essay I am going to compare my mom to my dad. I don't mean to sound rude or judgemental, I am just comparing them to how I look at them each as parents and as everyday usual people.

For starters I am going to talk about my dad. He left when I was age 1 1/2 and he hasn't really been around since then, which has made things pretty difficult for my mom and I. Another thing that makes him different is he is tight with his money, which I think is all he cares about besides his repulsive girlfriend, and the fact that he doesn't even pay child support when is supposed to, but when he does pay child support he gets away with shorting us a lot of money! That is another difference between my mom and my dad, he is a very lucky man! Not only because he can get away with that but because he has so much money and can afford anything he wants!

My mom practically raised me ever since my dad left, that's about 10 1/2 years! My mom is also better as a person! Shes open minded, strong hearted, intelligent, kind, but most of all my mom! Me and her have been through think & thin and shes like my best friend! She taught me how to talk, walk, smile, and just be myself!

My mom and my dad have a few similarities they both have beautiful blue eyes, they both are my parents, they both are people, they are both related to me by blood, but most of all I wouldn't be here without them!

Even though my mom and dad are split and I have never really had a father figure in my life I will forgive my dad, it will just take a lot of time!

mouthwash and toothpaste debate

"Tommy here with a fantastic debate". What would you use to clean your mouth?

Today were going to argue which is better to clean your mouth. Some of the similarities are they both come in different brands and clean your mouth. Although when I'm in a hurry to catch the bus mouthwash is faster then using a toothbrush. Some differences are a toothbrush you use toothpaste and its a solid mouthwash is a liquid. It takes about two minuets to brush your teeth mouthwash only takes about 15 seconds.

Stickynotes and Notebooks

Think about sticky notes and notebooks...What about them? You use them is that all? NO! You use them for everything! Just think their in your office or maybe in your house, you take notes put phone numbers down what else?

Sticky notes and notebooks are the same in ways aren't they?? They are the same by how they come in all sizes and that's fun when you need to travel.You can also buy them in a blank style or the kind with lines.Sticky notes and notebooks are also great for reminders!!!

Notebooks and sticky notes have their differences you know. Some of them are when you buy them notebooks come with a spiral wire that goes through the little holes on the side ,but then we have sticky notes that have a line or sticky stuff that's on the back on all the pieces of paper that holds them all together.Sticky notes come in all sorts of bright colors and shapes like the letter "M" for Malorie! Notebooks just come in white with blue and red lines but sometimes the cover for it can be cool. Last notebooks are more for writing stories and journaling when sticky notes aren't always big enough for that.

Sticky notes and notebooks have their differences and similarity's but you gotta love them!

Paint a picture now!

Alright, now many people say that taking pictures of a still life, or a landscape is is better than painting a picture instead. Well why not painting! A picture can only show what people visually see, but paintings can tell so much more. Like how they show your feelings just by changing the color, or even the time of day. Changing the shape like Picasso, and how he brought cubism to life by painting everything in cubes and squares. it can change the entire world's point of view!

Lets imagine a photograph of a pine tree, the bright sun glaring off of the bristles and the grass neatly mowed. Now take the setting, and change it to two years into the future, when the grass is a whole two feet tall, very messy, and hasn't been mowed the entire time! Also change the time of day, maybe to the evening , so that it shows a relaxed mood in the red and orange sky. That's a painting I know I would buy!

Now go back to that regular photograph of the pine tree. Very plain, not really a work of art. You know, just a picture right! Because that's all a picture really is, just that visual picture.

And it gets worse, that horrible glare! I can barely see the tree! Why must photographs be so EVIL!!!

You should kind of be getting to that phase right now that you just might want to go outside right now and paint a picture of something you see! And if you don't want to go outside on this grand day to paint a picture of something you see, what have you been doing this whole time crazies!!!

Anyways... paint!!!

X-Box 360 vs PS3: Modern Warfare 2 best comparison ever for Modern Warfare 2!!!!!!!

I wonder which is better to play modern warfare 2 on, the X-Box 360 or the PS3? How would you feel when you are playing a game you know well. You are just about to win. You are all excited, your heart is racing, and you are moving your character as fast as you can. You go to the spot where you know the information is to win, and it isn't there. This is how it is to play Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3 and not on the X-Box 360. Personally I like the X-Box 360 better and I bet you would also.
They do have some similarities. They both have the same characters and with both systems you are able to play with other people over the internet. The basic game play is the same between both systems. If you know how to play the game you can jump right in and play it on either system.When playing with other people online the PS3 has an internet rate of failure of 91.3% per game center critics. I wouldn't like that at all. The results of game play vary each time you play. For example, the enemy intel is not in the same place it should be. The graphics on the PS3 are horrible. You can't see the subtitles in the campaign or in a cut scene. Instead of achievements the PS3 has 51 trophies and they don't have much information on how to get a trophy. The storyline on the PS3 is not the original story for modern warfare 2 from the original modern warfare game. The only positive attribute of the PS3 is that it can play Blu-Ray and the X-Box 360 cannot.Now I've saved the best for last. The X-box 360 has an internet failure of .02% per game center critics. I think this is the main reason for playing modern warfare 2 on the X-Box 360 and not the PS3, if you play online with other people. The game play for the X-Box 360 always has the same results. The enemy intel is always in the right spot. The graphics for the X-Box 360 are much better than the PS3. I would choose them over the PS3’s any day. You can see the subtitles in the campaign and in cut scenes. There are only 50 achievements and they are all described in clear statements. Also the storyline is the original storyline for Modern Warfare 2 from the original modern warfare game.When I am playing Modern Warfare 2 my heart is racing and I am trying to complete my objective quickly. When everything is where it should be each time, and the game is stable and does not fail and I can make my objective I feel such a sense of accomplishment! That best describes how it is to play Modern Warfare 2 on the X-Box 360. Frustration over finding things which are in different spots each game play and having the game fail best describes how you feel playing Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3. So I think everyone would make the same conclusion. Playing Modern Warfare 2 on the X-Box 360 is definitely the way to go!

Long Jump and High Jump

Can you imagine someone running and jumping into a sand pit or over a bar. That's what I do for long jump and high jump. High jump and long jump are 2 of many field events. They are very fun to do and this year I'm trying them both.

Are there any similarities between high jump and long jump? Well yes, one is that you have to run and jump. Another is they are both field events that happen at a track meet. You can win metals and ribbons like any other event. If you don't land right or tip the bar over you get a scratch. Practice is key and it helps me.

In long jump you get to jump into a sand pit. You want to go for length to do good. When you start running you want to jump before the thick white line. If you don't you get a scratch. I personally like long jump better.

Although high jump is fun I think it is harder. In high jump you have to go over a bar and land on a mat. When you do it you want to go for height. When you run you curve then get to the bar and jump on tho the mat.

Well I do both events and they are both fun. You should try them too. You'll love them I do.

Chocolate and Caramel

I love sweets specially chocolate and caramel. I remember when i was younger i always loved chocolate and every time i would eat it it would go all over my face thats how much i loved it.Have you ever thought of what sweet is you favorite?
Chocolate and caramel are alike in a lot of ways they both are a good sweet. I wish chocolate and caramel were healthier so you could eat it more often and still be healthy too.
How to make it healthier is to put chocolate and caramel on fruit my favorite are apples and strawberries. Have you ever gave chocolate and caramel as a present? It is the perfect gift its like getting the best gift in the world! The taste is the best when it melts in your mouth it feels like your in heaven.
Chocolate and caramel have a lot of differences too. For one thing chocolate is brown like a teddy bear. Caramel is golden like gold. A ton of things have chocolate in it like brownies or just normal chocolate. There are somethings with caramel but not as much as chocolate somethings with caramel are the hard caramel candies. A lot of candies when they are mixed that's the best!
The creamy taste of caramel and chocolate melting in your mouth is amazing can't wait to eat some more!!

English vs. German

Have you ever thought about learning how to speak German? Are you scared to try learning a new language? It can seem very intimidating especially if you have only learned English. I am going to explain some similarities and differences between the German and English language.

A similarity between German and English is of course they are both languages and used to communicate. Another thing they have in common is both languages have cognates. A cognate is a word or phrase that looks or sounds like a word or phrase in another language. For example “guten morgen” is a German phrase. What does it look or sound like in the English language? Easy, it is good morning in English. Another example is “willkommen.” This means welcome in English. Also there are false cognates. A false cognate is a word that looks or sounds like a word in another language but means something very different. For instance, what do you think the German word “gift” means? It means a gift or present right? Wrong, it means poison in English! The last similarity they have is that a word in either language could have multiple meanings but is spelled the same. One example is the English word “can.” Depending on what context, the word “can” could mean it is possible or a container to hold something. A German example is “bitte.” It could mean please or you are welcome. These are just a few examples of similarities between them.

Obviously there are a lot of similarities but there are also a lot of differences too. For one, English has more than one million words while the German language has less than 200,000 words! Another difference is that English is mostly spoken in the Western Hemisphere while German is mostly spoken in the Eastern Hemisphere. How the languages are translated is very different. You can translate German to English using Grimm’s Law, but there is nothing like that available to translate English to German. You just have to know the languages. Another way these languages vary is the English language can borrow words from the German language but the reverse is not true. This is because the English language is based off the Latin and German languages. My final difference is that an English phrase could have four words in it but the same phrase in German could have three words.

As you can see there are several similarities and differences. Hopefully you have a better understanding of the English and German Languages.
